About JET Fuel
Jet Petroleum was founded in 1954. Initially set up in Yorkshire, Jet soon expanded nationally with the simple idea that fuel stations should offer “what you need and nothing more.” In 1961 Jet was bought out by the American fuel company Conoco. A little over three decades later, in 2002, Conoco merged with Phillips Petroleum to form ConocoPhillips. The downstream element was spun off to form Phillips 66, which operates across the refining, marketing and commercial sectors. JET, as it is now rebranded, is the UK forecourt brand of Phillips 66.
The Phillips 66 Humber refinery produces 14% of the UK’s road fuels and has developed biofuels and fuel oil from waste oil. Phillips 66 distributes over 10 billion litres of refined fuel annually across the UK from over 20 terminals.
JET offers both standard and premium unleaded and diesel, although both premium products won’t be available at all their locations. JET has also recently introduced an electric vehicle charging service JET Charge, currently available at three sites.
There are currently close to 300 JET sites in the UK, and its forecourts supply around 2% of the fuel sold nationally, according to the Petrol Retailers Association Oil Market Review 2023.
¹Not all JET fuel stations may offer premium grade fuels.
